Since 2006, INTO has launched partnerships to internationalize 17 universities in the US, UK and Asia, including Oregon State University, University of South Florida, Colorado State University and Marshall University.Job PurposeTo manage the integration of academic systems to meet the needs of the university and INTO University Partnerships. This individual will take ownership of assigned systems issues and technical requirements for the newly launched center. This individual will be actively involved in developing and maintaining systems to support in-house initiatives, project management tasks, access control, desktop support and systems research.Key Responsibilities• Determine user requirements and create clear and concise technical requirement documents.• Document and manage any new projects and technical needs.• Object Oriented Programming• Working with various stakeholders to develop systems integration based on specific requirements• Working collaboratively with multiple data management teams• Working within INTO's framework of published standards and practices• Developing & publishing process flows and transformational data mappings• Developing high-quality applications within the allotted time and budget• Operational support of the business unit through adoption of new technologies and development of ad-hoc prototype solutions• Efficiently manage planned and unanticipated issues arising during project development and implementation• Manage software product life cycles• Develop application verification and acceptance procedures, as well as procedures for monitoring application availability • Influencing process improvements• Develop policies, procedures and work flow relative to the INTO "Start-Up Operations Manual".Qualifications and ExperienceEssential:• B.S. degree or equivalent experience and/or training in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Programming, Computer Science, or a related field• Minimum 5 years of experience in IT or a related field• Eligible to work in the U.S. and travel abroad• Professional employment that demonstrates progressive experience and responsibility in information systems, project management, database technologies, programming skills and shared systems.• Superior abilities in problem analysis and resolution• Understanding of principles of application architecture• Experience in Object Oriented programming• Knowledge of XML files & XSD schema• Strong understanding of Relational Databases (SQL, Oracle)• Knowledge of programming languages • Ability to analyze processes and gap analysis• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team; self-motivated team player• Strong verbal and written communication skillsDesirable:• Superior project management experience, including a track record of completing projects on time and within budget• Action- and results-oriented• Import and Export data between disparate systems• Application report generation• Extensive experience utilizing relational databases (SQL, Oracle)• Experience working with Ellucian's (formerly SunGard) Banner ERP SystemSkills and Abilities• Ability to multi-task and work in a collaborative team environment and to work cooperatively with others.• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with technical staff as well as non-technical users.• Willingness to travel extensively domestically with some international travel possible• Travel 90-100%Position Location/Interim Responsibilities/ReportingThis position will be located at one of INTO's existing centers or INTO North America located in Solana Beach, California, and will report to the Executive Director Operations Support. When not providing IT services in connection with an active start up, the IT Manager will provide IT services to INTO North America and/or the existing INTO US partners as directed by the Systems Integration Manager North America.
