Summary: Plans and provides adequate supply of product to meet anticipated demand; Uses forecasts from company and inventory levels and communicates anticipated demand to production. Oversees procurement of materials, parts, and equipment for the company. Reviews and approves purchases up to a specified dollar amount. May negotiate major contracts involving large dollar amounts. Monitors cost, schedule and performance aspects of major vendors. Qualifies suppliers sand monitors supplier performance. Coordinates purchasing activities with other departments to maintain inventories at planned levels. Responsible for managing intra-company communications regarding planning, product inquiries, order processing and coordinating with all departments to assure timely production, order fulfillment and problem resolution. Qualifications: BS degree with 3+ years experience in purchasing and planning in a manufacturing environment. Requires good, clear oral written communications skills. Experience working with integrated inventory and manufacturing software. Good organization skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy. Must have strong knowledge of word processing and spread sheet programs. Demonstrated willingness and ability to work in a customer service environment; responds and resolves problems directly or through others quickly and courteously.
