ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESKey Responsibilities:• Proof a wide variety of catalogs and other marketing materials for quality assurance and accuracy of product information including images, prices, and adherence to style guide.• Input proofreading edits into InDesign• Work hands-on with merchandising groups to refine and reconfigure product lists, preparing the lists for automated layout into advertising pages.• Update advertising database in FileMaker Pro (including text, product, price and layout changes) on all print deliverables• Perform other production duties as needed; including copywriting, layout, etc.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:• 2 year college degree or greater preferred• 1 to 3 years' experience in a Musical Instrument retailer or catalog production environment preferred• Strong proofreading skills and meticulous attention to detail with experience handling large amounts of product information for catalog layouts• Working knowledge of FileMaker Pro, InDesign and Photoshop in a Mac environment preferred• Working knowledge of MS Office Suite to include: Word, Excel and Outlook required• Thorough understanding of musical instruments, specifically drums and percussion• Thorough knowledge of current Music Industry music, and popular culture• A strong understanding of the retail and Music Industry marketplace • Thorough knowledge of musical equipment including technical language and detailsIn connection with an application for employment and/or promotion with Guitar Center, Inc., investigative consumer reports, which may include credit reports, criminal history consistent with applicable federal and state laws, motor vehicle reports, employment records, educational background or other sources of information may be requested.We offer competitive compensation, vacation, benefits, events, and excellent discounts.
